WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) was presented this week with the “Spirit of Enterprise” award for his strong voting record on critical business issues in the second session of the 112th Congress. Tom Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, presented LoBiondo with the award at a ceremony on Capitol Hill.

“The strength of the economy is still not where it should be, particularly in South Jersey as double-digit unemployment remains and too many residents are looking for full-time work. With small businesses as the engine of our economy, it is imperative we put forth policies that will give them confidence to hire and invest,” said LoBiondo. “I remain committed to working with all of South Jersey’s chapters to grow our economy and am pleased to accept the Chamber’s ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award.”

In its 25th year, the U.S. Chamber’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings it gives for key business votes outlined in its yearly publication, How They Voted. Those members of Congress who support the Chamber’s position on at least 70% of those votes receive the award. LoBiondo compiled a 75 percent score with the Chamber last year. "In the face of high-stakes politics and difficult choices, Rep. LoBiondo provided America’s job creators with a strong voice in Congress,” said Tom Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “This award recognizes Rep. LoBiondo for consistently demonstrating his support for pro-growth policies.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
